"Love is Gourdgeous" was inspired during my participation in the annual plein air event in Florence, Colorado. One of the suggested painting locations was at a local pumpkin farm. Though I did not paint during my visit to this farm, I did purchase over a dozen small gourds that they had for sale because each one seemed to look like a bird. My brain was filled with ideas of a series of painting using these gourds in various arrangements to tell stories. This was the only painting that was completed before all of the gourds decayed beyond use. The ideas are still with me and may one day come to fruition.
